TOWER BLOCKS AT SILVERTOWN - LONDON
Working in cooperation with our own in-house design team we developed an extensive deconstruction Method Statement and procedures document for the temporary back propping of structures to enable the two Tower Blocks to be deconstructed mirroring the construction process.
The project required the deconstruction of two Tower Blocks that had formed a former housing estate in central London. The buildings were deconstructed by the installation of a temporary back propping being put in place first to enable the buildings to be dismantled by the use of a Tower Crane and mini excavators working in a top down method. The project also involved the identification and removal of Asbestos and the removal of all underground structures.
All suitable material was retained on site and processed for reuse in the future development.
