FITZJOHNS AVENUE - HAMPSTEAD
Together with our retained structural engineers we devised a scheme to retain the front facades of three large brick built Edwardian houses in Fitzjohn's Avenue in Hampstead whilst removing the remainder. The houses had been extended and altered over the years and were divided into flats.
The works entailed identification and removal of asbestos, careful demolition of the structures whilst retaining the fragile facades on Fitzjohn's Avenue. Significant volume of the bricks and slates were salvaged and passed into the reclamation market, whilst the remaining arisings were crushed and spread on site as a precursor to the new development.
